Woohoo... Mad winds in the estuary!

When I got there it was about 20-22 knots so I rigged my big board (Sputnik) and my 5.1m speed sail ready for a nice speed sesion once the channels were defined.

By the time I had rigged the wind was blowing a hoolie and my first few runs were ridiculously overpowered. Back in, more downahul and a smaller fin and things were a little more controlled, but never comfortable. I really should have been on a 4m sail and my wave board, but I stuck it out, held on and had a pretty good blast in the channel.

When I got back I realised that my top speed had been a pretty impressive 33.8 knots. If I had known I was doing that sort of speed I would have stayed out a little longer and really gone for it as I hadn't been trying to go fast at all... I'd simply been concentrating on hanging on as best I could!
